CFL1 / CrossFit Kids Coach
I was involved in gymnastics for 10 years, 3 of those years coaching gymnastics. A friend invited me to try Crossfit in 2023, and I found the community was always fun and the coaches cared immensely, since then CrossFit Albemarle has played a huge role in my life. I love teaching the kids how to associate fun with movement and hard work.

I have 4 years of recreational and competitive gymnastics coaching experience. I started CrossFit in 2023 the summer after my junior of high school after I took a weightlifting class and quit doing gymnastics. Crossfit introduced me to a new challenge while also including gymnastics movements and weightlifting. The community at CrossFit Albemarle specifically keeps bringing me back everyday as everyone is always supportive no matter who you are. The friendly competition pushes me everyday which is something I was worried I would not have after quitting gymnastics. Crossfit has been a great opportunity for me to continue being active even after highschool.

I have been married to my wife Danielle since 2010 and we have 3 boys together. They are a huge part of why I want to continue to better myself physically and mentally through the CrossFit community. It’s not only about having a healthy body but a healthy mind and quality relationships as well. I started doing CrossFit around 2017 when a friend of mine introduced me to the CrossFit workout “Fran” and have been hooked ever since. Since then my training has evolved and now more than ever see that what we do today has significant ramifications for our future. I worked in the health and fitness industry for over a decade before leaving to go to a sales position. After working out on my own for about a year I missed the community and drive that the gym provides. I joined CF Albemarle in 2023 and immediately felt at home there. It wasn’t long before I wanted to give back to the place that has helped so many achieve their goals. I look forward to helping others find their passion and hit their goals in the gym and life.

I am a Class of 2025 Exercise Science Major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and I plan on going to Physical Therapy School to get my Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
The last athletic high school event I had been to was the Track and Field State Championship and after that I had no more sports, no more weightlifting class with the buddies. No more competition or drive to be better at something. I found myself very unmotivated in the gym and was not progressing at all.
The second I walked into Crossfit Albemarle everything I had lost came back and everyday it’s like I’m back in high school training to be something better. Not only is there drive to be better but the family of Crossfit Albemarle is second to none. I always say, “there’s no better place to be than Crossfit Albemarle.

I love CFA because of the people. It’s my second family. One that shares the same dedication to being healthy for a lifetime. The coaches invest so much of their time, money and heart into making sure we have the knowledge and resources we need to be our best selves. I honestly never believed that I could do CrossFit and that I definitely would not like it, but I look forward to going and suffering along with everyone else! I will be forever grateful to my brothers for inviting me (over and over and over for 3 years) until I got smart and tried it!

In 2015 I won a 3 month membership to CF Albemarle. Little did I know what a huge impact that would have on my life. From the first class I knew CrossFit was special. This wasn’t your typical gym. The coaches were very knowledgeable and they truly cared. Every class was different or “constantly varied” and the community was second to none! I quickly learned that CF could create positive change for the health of anyone willing to put in the work, young or old, athletic or not. Becoming a CF coach was a no-brainer for me. I get to share everything I’ve learned, help others create healthy lives and build confidence In what they are capable of. I am so blessed to be a part of CF Albemarle.

I have 10 years of recreational and competitive Gymnastics coaching experience. I began doing CrossFit in 2013 because I needed something to keep me active after I had stopped doing Gymnastics. I never had a taste for working out in the gym alone so the group setting for classes was very appealing. What always keeps me coming back is the people I surround myself with. It seems that no matter what they are always happy to see you and even happier to see you succeed.

I am a registered nurse (BSN). I work at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Albemarle as the Nurse Manager over medical services since 2013. I love serving women in our community with my faith and medical knowledge. I have my CF Level One since 2022 and began working with an older adult doing one on one personal training. This year that turned into 2 and then 3 older adults. This gave me experience and confidence to train to teach a class of athletes. I became a CrossFit member in 2020 at age 51 and had never picked up a barbell in my life. I loved the challenging workouts and the group setting that was full of encouragers. Our community pushed me and coached me into good positions and relentlessly helped me learn and grow mentally and physically into a stronger, more confident person. I am in it for the long haul for sure. I also have an amazing husband Dave and now 3 adult kids, 2 who are also Cross-fitters.

I started my CrossFit journey in 2013, the day Scott opened the doors. The coaches, community, and leadership have helped me immeasurably. CrossFit Albemarle is a second home. As the most senior male member I seldom coach but fill in wherever I can. My role is to try to help make things function better. CrossFit Albemarle helps me “not let the old man in!”

CFL3 / Manager / Nutrition Coach
I’ve been a member of CrossFit Albemarle since 2013 and coach since 2019.
I’ve always been active, but after years of running I grew frustrated with traditional exercise. After hearing about CrossFit from a friend I visited CrossFit Albemarle – I was hooked from day one. I started out focusing on physical goals, like most people who do traditional training and exercise, but I quickly realized that CrossFit and CrossFit Albemarle offered so much more. With physical strength came emotional strength, confidence, and friendships that will last a lifetime. CrossFit Albemarle is so much more than a gym. It’s changed my life and it can change yours too.

My husband and I graduated from Appalachian State where we were first introduced to CrossFit by one of our professors. After graduating and begining our teaching carreers, we joined an affiliate in Morehead City NC. We LOVED it. After a couple months, I knew I wanted to somehow make a carrer out of this. In 2017, my husband and I moved to Albemarle and joined CrossFit Albemarle. After getting my Level 1, I began our CrossFit Kids program then started coaching adult classes. Still juggling my teaching career, and helping at the gym as much as possible, I earned the opportunity to become the “Manager” of CFA. I went for my L2 and then for my L3. Learning as much as possible is always the goal. After a year, we were given the opportunity to become owners of CrossFit Albemarle, a 10 year affiliate at the time. We had BIG shoes to fill and we were more than ready. Brad and I love this place and our members with all of our hearts, and are full steam ahead to Maximize Quality of Life for as many people as we can!
